Kathryn is a dedicated public health professional with more than twelve years of experience in municipal and state health departments. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Public Health from the Boston University School of Public Health. During her time at BUSPH, Kathryn interned with the Carlisle Board of Health and deeply appreciated the range of services local public health provides.
After graduating, Kathryn worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist for the Boston Public Health Commission and an immunization epidemiologist for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). In 2021 she became the Associate Director of MDPH's Immunization Division.
Kathryn is also a former CPR/First Aid Instructor for the American Red Cross and a former EMT-B with multiple volunteer EMS agencies.
Kathryn has been a Town Meeting Member for District 9 since 2019 and has participated in Impact Norwood's Community Coalition since 2022, joining their Steering Committee in 2024. She has also been a member of the School Health Council since January 2024 and participated in the planning and coordination of Norwood Public Schools' first annual Wellness Fair.Â
Kathryn was born and raised in Vermont, in a town with passionate residents like Norwood but one-quarter the size. She and her husband David moved to Norwood in 2015; together they have one daughter, Alexandra, who is a first grader at the Prescott School.
When not working, Kathryn can often be found at the library (frequently with Alex!), baking in her kitchen, or jogging around her neighborhood.
