Kathryn is a candidate for Board of Health in the April 6, 2026 Norwood town election. As a seasoned public health professional, Kathryn's goal is to ensure the health of all Norwood residents through town and regional programs and services.
See Kathryn's responses to the Norwood League of Women Voters Voter Guide here: LWV Guide - Kathryn Ahnger-Pier
Kathryn holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Epidemiology from the Boston University School of Public Health. She worked as an epidemiologist for nine years, first for the Boston Public Health Commission and then for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Kathryn believes one of the top challenges facing Norwood coming out of the COVID pandemic has been mental health, particularly for our students. Impact Norwood has been a tremendous resource and she would love to have the town find sustainable funding for the program once its grant expires in 2027. She also believes strongly in improved communications and collaborations with the Norfolk County 8 coalition.
While Kathryn was unable to participate in the live event because her opponent chose not to attend, she was able to record a three minute statement, which plays just before the live forum.
